Mr. Pease received his BA in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1987 and a Masters in Psychology from National University in 1989.
Mr. Pease has been employed with the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency for 19 years. He began his career as a Protective Service Worker for Child Welfare Services. He worked as a PSW and Senior PSW for five years in Family Maintenance & Reunification and in Court Intervention. While working for CWS he provided training to new social workers in the area of investigations. From there, he transitioned into Administration including human resources and contracts. In 2000, he moved into the Budget Office for HHSA and has been employed with them to date. He has been the Agency’s Budget Manager since 2005, and has oversight responsibilities for the funding of over $1.8 billion worth of programs and services, such as CWS, CalWORKs, Food Stamps, IHSS, Adult Protective Services, Alcohol and Drugs, Mental Health Services, Public Health Services, Veterans Services. Mr. Pease provides training through-out the year to various managers and staff within HHSA on budget and finance. In 2007 he helped develop and implement a Finance Academy specific for San Diego’s HHSA services and divisions.
